Phantom Nights by John Farris.
Set in Tennessee in the 1950’s, this southern gothic tale of rape, killer dogs, political and financial shenanigans and vengeance from beyond the grave, also offers some humor, tenderness and warmth. Solidly developed characters and an authentic sense of the interracial relationships in a small town add to a story filled with suspense. The reader, Joey Collins, is exceptional making this one of those recording that you may sit in your car and listen to long after you‘ve arrived home.
