Montmorency:Thief, Liar, Gentleman? Audiobook

Montmorency:Thief, Liar, Gentleman? Audiobook - The Rabid Reader
Montmorency: Thief, Liar, Gentleman? By Eleanor Updike
When a prisoner in a harsh Victorian jail overhears a lecture about the wonders of London’s new sewer system he sees the opportunity to become incredibly wealthy. After he is released he reinvents himself as Scarper, a rough edged valet who can negotiate the seamy side of London’s streets, and as Montmorency, a polished gentleman seeking to belong in high society. You will find yourself rooting for Montmorency, who despite his brutal life seems to be an innate gentleman. He will have to outwit the treacherous dangers of the sewer system, scheming females, and the many pitfalls of pretending to be someone you are not. This is the best audiobook I have heard in many months.
