Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid Audiobook
Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid; a memoir by Bill Bryson.
Bryson is unquestionably a terrific writer but it’s his incredulous reading that makes this autobiography so much fun, Did we really think that running after the “mosquito spray” truck was not a bad idea? Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s in Des Mines, Iowa, without the coastal influence of any immigrant populations, Bryson could not be more Middle-American if he tried. Anyone who is of a certain age (50ish) or who raised children, especially boys during this time period will howl with laughter. This CD is a chance to revisit that lovely, innocent time in America when we thought we were invincible, not just from cigarettes and x-rays but from ourselves as well.
