If you like serial killers with a droll sense of humor, you’re going to love Dexter. Dexter was severely abused as a child, as a result, despite the best efforts of his foster father, he has grown up a psychopath. His foster father taught him to channel these violent urges into killing people who really deserve it, such as a nurse who overdoses her patients. This story, set in Miami, has lots of quirky characters. Barbie doll parts, a zamboni, and a flying human head are all bizarre clues in this atmospheric tale. Fans of Carl Hiaasen may enjoy this.
