Codex
The Codex by Douglas Preston
Two novels with the title of The Codex were released in 2004. This is the fun one, the one that will appeals to fans of Indiana Jones. The codex in this case is a Mayan artifact that lists all the medicinal properties of the rain forest, cures that could be worth billions. Cranky old Maxwell Broadbent sets the task of finding this treasure to his three sons. The son who is successful will redeem himself in the eyes of his father, and become heir to his millions.
