Bridget Jones DiaryThis is a featured page

Bridget Jones Diary by Helen Fielding. A very funny look at the life of a modern single girl in England. Occasionally racy and frequently hilarious. Find out how Bridget ends up dressed like a tart at the vicar's garden party. Read beautifully with just the right sense of the ridiculous. If you enjoy this, and would like to hear the travails of a modern single young New Yorker, try The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Banks.

Bridget Jones Diary was a tremendously funny book and the audio version was especially good -- the sequel was disappointing. If you think you know this book because you saw the movie, you don't. The book is much funnier, and more touching, than the movie.
I also liked GGtHaF, but I don't think it exhibits the same comedic timing that Fielding brings to Bridget Jones.
